Position Overview

The Dispatcher plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service and overseeing scale operations within the Transportation Department. Reporting directly to the Transportation Manager, this individual will lead and supervise the Drivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer service inquiries and appropriately route calls
• Address customer requests and complaints, escalating issues to the Transportation Manager as necessary
• Follow up on unresolved matters with customers, the Sales Team, and the Transportation Manager
• Oversee the weighing of all materials entering and exiting the facility
• Supervise scale operations
• Handle all incoming calls
• Complete daily dispatch documentation
• Conduct all scale operations for inbound and outbound materials
• Create and maintain records for receivers and shippers in the database
• Finalize daily dispatch paperwork
• Organize and file all driver logs and reports
• Test and maintain the radiation detection system and associated log book
• Facilitate internal communication with the Manager and team members
• Exhibit competency in all job functions and align with company objectives
• Demonstrate understanding of company policies, procedures, and training
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; some college education or a degree is advantageous
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service
• Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Proficient in mathematics and calculations
• Professional demeanor
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
• Proficient in computer skills and data entry
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking); bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Stable job history with reliable attendance and trustworthy references
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, background check, and credit assessment
