Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement efficient month and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal/external audits.
  • Prepare and review financial statements with leadership on a monthly basis, maintaining a robust internal control system and overall controls environment.
  • Oversee the management of cost and inventory accounting systems, driving improvement of COGS and manufacturing variance reporting.
  • Effectively manage and influence improvements in working capital efficiency, performing trending and other analyses to provide valuable financial insight to BNSM management.
  • Support the corporate accounting team as needed, working with the corporate tax team to facilitate timely statutory reporting for the legal entity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting, reporting, and management work experience, with exceptional knowledge of general, cost, technical accounting, and US GAAP.
  • Demonstrated success in managing both internal and external audit engagements, with strong verbal, written, interpersonal, computer, analytical, and technical communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, with strong SAP or other large ERP system experience highly preferred.
  • Energetic and self-motivated, with strong people management skills and demonstrated success leading an accounting team in a rapidly changing and diverse, multi-national commercial work environment.
