MDS Specialist with PDPM Expertise

Primary Duties:
- Hold a valid RN or LPN license in MA with a minimum of two years of experience in MDS/PDPM.
- Lead weekly Medicare meetings, ensuring clear communication regarding coverage criteria.
- Submit MDS to CMS and follow up to rectify any discrepancies or messages indicated in final validation reports.
- Conduct PDPM/MDS assessments within required regulatory timelines, including CAAs.
- Review invoices related to skilled patients under consolidated billing as necessary.
- Maintain an updated PDPM schedule, ensuring all PDPM MDS ARDs are set within the designated time frames in the MDS software.
- Perform MDS accuracy and PDPM reviews using the required software and processes promptly.
- Engage in compliance reviews and the Triple Check process.
- Oversee skilled documentation for potential enhancements or modifications.
- Adhere to a schedule of due dates for all MDS submissions.
- Coordinate the completion of MDS assessments across all disciplines.
- Examine MDS data for precision and collaborate with relevant staff to ensure accuracy.
- Finalize and submit MDS according to RAI requirements.
- Complete Medicare Physician Certification and ensure adherence to CMS Medicare guidelines.
- Confirm that assessments are transmitted and approved by the State promptly.
- Address any rejected records and prepare them for resubmission.
- Complete CAAs in accordance with state regulations.
- Provide weekly updates for managed care residents.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other healthcare-related environment.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, rehabilitative and restorative care, and the regulations governing long-term care.
- Proficient in computer applications, with a preference for Accu Med experience.
- Demonstrated experience in MDS/PDPM completion is essential.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to adapt schedule for month-end processes.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to complete assessments accurately and in a timely manner.
