Job Summary

Sigma Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team for a contract position. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and be able to support a positive and professional atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluation and Assessment: Identify and select appropriate assessments to measure contextual factors, activity demands, and student factors related to academic achievement.
  • Student Evaluations: Complete evaluations, observations, and screenings of students' strengths, problems, and potential issues within the educational setting.
  • Data Collection: Gather data from record reviews, interviews, checklists, specific observations, and collaboration or consultation for effective evaluation planning with the school-based team.
  • Medical Record Interpretation: Interpret medical records as applied to the educational environment.
  • Assessment Data Interpretation: Interpret assessment data to develop and refine hypotheses about students' academic performance and effectively communicate results to various audiences.
  • Intervention Planning: Use clinical experience, observation, and professional judgment, as well as assessment data, to plan and develop targeted interventions within the context of an IEP team.
  • Accommodations and Modifications: Provide classroom and environmental modifications and accommodations, integrating equipment and technology devices to facilitate functional and independent skills.
  • Intervention Approaches: Identify and utilize evidence-based intervention approaches.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Demonstrate skills for designing and applying therapeutic strategies based on students' needs, motivational levels, interests, preferences, and individual backgrounds and characteristics.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Document student service, administrative, and other departmental records in accordance with school district, state, and federal policies.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy or graduation from an accredited program of Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensure: Licensure to practice Occupational Therapy in Colorado.
  • Certification: Certification by National Board Certificate of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Special Service Provider License: Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License.
