Senior Environmental Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our team in Portland, ME. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of environmental investigation and remediation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage public and private sector environmental projects primarily in the northeast
- Support management of project execution, advising on technical direction, interfacing with Clients and stakeholders, and delivering high-quality results on time and within budget
- Anticipate Project Manager and Client needs to ensure smooth and high-quality project delivery
- Monitor project costs, risks, and schedule to support the Project Manager with meeting project objectives
- Participate in internal management briefings on project statuses
- Assist Project Managers in the preparation of monthly reporting and billing to customers and timely payment collection
- Pre-project task planning, scheduling, and resourcing
- Manage procurement strategy for subcontracted scope elements and working with Task Leads to manage subcontractor performance
- Solve complex technical and logistical challenges with project execution
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project team members to address client goals and objectives
- Ensure quality of project deliverables
- Participate in proposal efforts
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Engineering, Geology or Environmental Science
- 5 to 7 years task management or assistant project management experience with a focus on environmental investigations and remediation, including coordinating subcontractors
- Registered Professional Engineer, Licensed Geologist, Project Management Professional or equivalent credential preferred
- Self-motivated problem solver with high attention to detail
- Strong communication, report writing, and presentation skills
- Ability to interact with clients and stakeholders in a professional and ethical manner
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team
- Must have a driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites (20% travel anticipated)
