About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our team in Portland, ME. As a key member of our environmental consulting team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of environmental investigation and remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage public and private sector environmental projects primarily in the northeast region.
  • Support project managers in directing project execution, advising on technical direction, and interfacing with clients and stakeholders.
  • Deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
  • Anticipate project manager and client needs to ensure smooth and high-quality project delivery.
  • Monitor project costs, risks, and schedule to support project managers in meeting project objectives.
  • Participate in internal management briefings on project statuses.
  • Assist project managers in preparing monthly reporting and billing to customers and timely payment collection.
  • Manage procurement strategy for subcontracted scope elements and work with task leads to manage subcontractor performance.
  • Solve complex technical and logistical challenges with project execution.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project team members to address client goals and objectives.
  • Ensure quality of project deliverables.
  • Participate in proposal efforts.
Requirements
  • BS or MS in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science.
  • 5 to 7 years of task management or assistant project management experience with a focus on environmental investigations and remediation, including coordinating subcontractors.
  • Registered Professional Engineer, Licensed Geologist, Project Management Professional, or equivalent credential preferred.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact with clients and stakeholders in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team.
  • Must have a driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites (20% travel anticipated).
