Your Role and Impact

As a Service Engineer at Lam Research, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer support. Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere installations and repairs; you will ensure the optimal performance of our sophisticated semiconductor machinery. Engaging directly with customers, you will assess their needs and collaborate with various teams to provide effective solutions. We are seeking multiple Service Engineers for entry-level roles.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality on-site repair, maintenance, and installation services for Lam's intricate electro-mechanical and electronic systems at client locations. Engage in analytical troubleshooting, perform diagnostics, and identify issues down to the component level, implementing corrective measures to reduce downtime and equipment failures. Stay informed about semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through ongoing learning and certification. Assist in complex field modifications and updates, maintaining accurate records and reports to facilitate coordination between Lam and the client. Act as a subject matter expert, representing Lam to our esteemed customers and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Develop troubleshooting and response plans to address customer requirements effectively. Foster transparent communication regarding opportunities and challenges with customers to build trust. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience in installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operational manuals is advantageous. Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment while utilizing personal protective equipment. Capable of performing physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, as required by customer needs, with flexibility for various shifts, including overtime and on-call duties.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in basic computer skills and familiar with standard office software, including Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Foundational analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience with Plating/Wet Etch tools, Metals, ALD (PEALD and thermal ALD), and Deposition (ALD, CVD, PECVD) is a plus.
