Your Role and Impact

As a Service Engineer at Lam Research, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer support. Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere installations and repairs; you will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our sophisticated semiconductor machinery. You will engage directly with customers, gaining insights into their requirements and collaborating with diverse teams to provide effective solutions. We are seeking multiple Service Engineers for entry-level roles.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality on-site repair, maintenance, and complete installation/start-up services for Lam's intricate electro-mechanical and electronic systems at client locations. Conduct thorough analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and isolate issues to the component level, implementing corrective measures to reduce downtime and equipment failures. Stay informed about semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through ongoing learning, training, and certification. Assist in complex field modifications and updates, maintaining detailed records and reports to coordinate efforts between Lam and the client. Act as a subject matter expert, representing Lam to our esteemed customers and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction. Develop troubleshooting and customer response action plans to meet client needs. Engage in transparent discussions regarding opportunities and challenges with customers to foster trust. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related discipline. Preferred experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment, though not mandatory. Familiarity with interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals is advantageous. Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while adhering to safety protocols. Capability to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, reaching, and standing for extended periods. Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, based on client requirements, with flexibility to work various shifts, including overtime and on-call duties as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with common office software, including Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Foundational analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience with Plating/Wet Etch tools, Metals, ALD (PEALD and thermal ALD), and Deposition (ALD, CVD, PECVD) is a plus.
