Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Director of Finance. This role will be responsible for monitoring all financial activity related to grants applied for and received by the Muncie campus, working with Skills Training and CDL programs at the finance level, and serving as the campus Grants Finance Designee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage grant budgets, ensuring compliance with granting organizations and college guidelines.
  • Process Sponsored Program Fund Request forms and Modification forms, and review grant requisitions to ensure expenditures comply with college policies.
  • Monitor grant balances, interact with college staff to ensure grant funds are fully utilized, and provide regular reports to the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Project Directors.
  • Provide general oversight for all grants and projects, escalating any issues to the Vice Chancellor of Finance as needed.
  • Assist with grant reporting and annual SBOA audits, and prepare financial reports for project directors.
  • Interact with Systems Office Sponsored Program Accounting and Grant Office staff to ensure compliance with college policy and procedures.
  • Assist with CDL and Skills training documentation, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience with grant budget development, grant accounting, and grant reporting preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and implement college policy and procedures, and manage multiple grant projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience with Banner and Workday preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to take initiative and promote an inclusive work environment.
