About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Low Observable Materials Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our mechanical design team, you will be responsible for developing and integrating advanced materials and technologies to support our Low Observable (LO) weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and characterize advanced materials and processes to reduce radar cross-section and improve stealth capabilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate LO materials and technologies into air vehicle systems
  • Conduct material performance predictions and measurements to ensure compliance with design requirements
  • Lead the development of new materials and processes to support emerging LO technologies
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
  • 10+ years of experience in LO materials engineering or a related field
  • Proven track record of developing and integrating advanced materials and technologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a STEM field
  • Experience with high-temperature LO materials characterization and testing
  • Knowledge of intrinsic property analytical techniques for electromagnetic characterization of materials
  • Proficiency in CAD software and technical programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB)
