Position Overview

At Orbital Insight, our goal is to empower decision-makers with a comprehensive understanding of the Earth's dynamics. Our advanced analytics platform, TerraScope, processes vast amounts of geospatial information and employs cutting-edge AI/ML and Data Science methodologies to extract valuable insights. The role of Senior Product Manager, Geodata is pivotal, merging technical product oversight with strategic business development, essential to our operations. This position demands a deep comprehension of technical specifications across diverse data sets, innovative thinking to leverage that data for customer benefit, and the business savvy to nurture and oversee intricate partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Stay informed about the geodata landscape, encompassing satellite networks, IoT technologies, and open-source intelligence. Understand current offerings, upcoming launches, and factors that enhance long-term customer value. Forge and maintain complex partnerships, overseeing contract negotiations, quota tracking, and compliance with usage requirements. Develop and implement policies and procedures, guiding decisions on build versus buy, and establishing data governance protocols, including quality management and adherence to contractual and regulatory standards. Collaborate with data science teams to guarantee the integrity and precision of incoming data through profiling and cleansing methodologies. Create, execute, and sustain processes and tools for data discovery, extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various sources. Work cross-functionally with partners and clients to ascertain requirements and priorities for both new and existing products. Supervise data pipelines and address any issues that arise, partnering closely with the engineering team for resolution. Maintain accurate and current metadata for all data sources.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, information technology, or a related field. Over 3 years of experience in partnership development, contract negotiation, and business development, ideally within the geospatial sector. More than 5 years of experience in software product or program management. Proven track record in managing and expanding partnerships with providers or vendors. Experience in contract negotiation and internal performance monitoring. Familiarity with data privacy regulations, compliance requirements, and data governance principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related challenges. Experience with large data sets and the implementation of data pipelines. Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners. Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality assurance. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and thrive under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. Experience in delivering large-scale machine learning products and services with a geospatial focus is advantageous. Background in computer vision applications is a plus.

Compensation

Salary range: $160,000 - $218,000 per year. This range reflects the annual base salary only.
