Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutritionist to join our team at Mount Sinai Morningside. As a Clinical Nutritionist, you will be responsible for providing quality nutrition care and education to patients and family members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the nutritional status of patients by reviewing pertinent information obtained from the electronic medical record and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Apply knowledge of nutrition screening and assessment to specific patient populations to determine their nutritional needs.
  • Conduct nutrition-focused physical exams and document pertinent findings in the medical record as per policy.
  • Provide quality nutrition counseling to patients and family members as indicated.
  • Evaluate nutrition care plans for effectiveness and recommend changes as needed.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds as needed and communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team.
  • Assist with discharge planning as needed.
  • Precept dietetic interns and instruct them on the competencies required to complete their assigned rotation.
  • Participate in projects within the department, including providing education via nutrition-related in-services, interdepartmental nutrition programs, lectures, and community-focused programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution, with completion of ACEND-accredited dietetic internship.
  • Minimum 0 years experience + completion of ACEND-accredited dietetic internship.
  • Must be a registered dietitian (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or registration-eligible, having completed a dietetic internship from an ACEND-accredited program.
