As a key member of our Food and Nutrition Services department, you will provide comprehensive nutrition care to patients, assessing their needs and developing personalized care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nutrition care to assigned patients, including assessing nutritional needs and developing, implementing, and re-evaluating care plans.
- Modify diet orders as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide coverage of all inpatient units and attend multidisciplinary rounds for designated clinics.
- Calculate patient nutrition requirements using standardized formulas.
- Refer patients to other services as needed, such as GI Nutrition Services, Social Services, and Integrative Medicine.
- Counsel patients and caregivers on special nutrition needs and procedures.
- Develop and revise patient education materials on nutrition-related topics.
- Train new hires to specific areas as applicable.
- Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, with at least 1 year in critical care and oncology nutrition.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist, New York State.
- Advanced level certification: Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO) or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred.
