Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Food and Nutrition Services department, you will provide comprehensive nutrition care to patients, assess nutritional needs, and develop personalized care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Nutrition Care: Assess patients' nutritional needs, develop and implement care plans, and modify diet orders as needed.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Attend and participate in multidisciplinary rounds for designated clinics, providing cross-coverage for other outpatient areas as assigned.
- Calculate Nutrition Requirements: Use standardized formulas to determine patients' calorie, fluid, and protein requirements.
- Refer Patients to Other Services: Refer patients to GI Nutrition Services, Social Services, Speech Therapy, and Integrative Medicine as needed prior to discharge.
- Counsel Patients and Caregivers: Educate patients and caregivers about special nutrition needs and procedures, and coordinate outpatient nutrition services as needed.
- Develop Patient Education Materials: Create written patient education materials on nutrition-related topics and revise as needed.
- Train New Hires: Train new staff members on specific areas as applicable.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience, with at least 1 year in critical care and oncology nutrition.
- Certifications: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Commission on Dietetic Registration; Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist, New York State; Advanced level certification: Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO) or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred.
