Job Overview

Position Summary:

The role involves receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring precision and promptness in all operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in unloading delivery vehicles, verifying merchandise, and reconciling purchase orders with sales orders.
  • Interpret customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to identify items to be moved, gathered, or shipped.
  • Transport materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated locations.
  • Organize and position materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined order based on size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Maintain a safe and accessible warehouse environment for staff and customer traffic.
  • Compile customer orders from stock and arrange orders on pallets or shelves, or transfer orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers as necessary.
  • Document quantities of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Assist in conducting physical inventory counts.
  • Perform all necessary computer functions to monitor various aspects of goods.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a warehouse setting with occasional outdoor exposure during work hours. The role frequently utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, as well as standard warehouse tools like hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully execute the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee frequently interacts with co-workers and clients who have inquiries regarding various projects and needs. Accurate information exchange is essential in these situations. The employee must be able to remain stationary for 75% of the time and occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets and office machinery. The role requires constant operation of a computer and office machinery such as calculators, keyboards, copy machines, and printers. The employee frequently moves boxes weighing up to 25 lbs across the facility and/or to other locations for project requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 Year of Relevant Experience

Qualifications:

  • High school education and at least one year of experience in a shipping and receiving environment.
  • Ability to read and write in English, follow verbal instructions, and perform basic math.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Capability to operate a forklift.
