Job Summary

Columbus City Schools is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Instructional Assistant Library Learning Center to join our team. As an Instructional Assistant Library Learning Center, you will play a vital role in supporting the operation of the library media center and providing effective use of library media for teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the operation of the library media center to provide effective use of library media for teaching and learning.
  • Assist students and staff with locating and using library resources.
  • Maintain records and compile statistics for enhancing circulation and annual reports.
  • Schedule use and maintain inventory of materials and equipment.
  • Operate a microcomputer utilizing software used for word processing, desktop publishing, and database management.
  • Circulate print and non-print materials.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • At least 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Pass the Ohio Department of Education approved Parapro examination administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) or by the Ohio State University (OSU), and possess a high school diploma or GED recognized by the Ohio Department of Education.
Working Conditions
  • Works in an office setting.
  • May require occasional irregular hours and/or prolonged hours.
  • Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
