Job Summary:

As a Senior Real Estate Accounting Manager at Moss Adams, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our clients by assuming various roles such as a seasoned Controller, Account Manager, and Senior Onboarding Specialist.

You will oversee and supervise teams providing real estate accounting consulting services, manage ongoing financial reporting operations, review periodic financial reports, KPIs, and other management reports, and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain existing client relationships and assist partners in developing new business in pre-identified industries and demographic sectors.
  2. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and processes, delivering all assigned work accurately and on time to clients.
  3. Provide guidance and supervision of engagement teams to meet deadlines.
  4. Facilitate problem-solving and creative thinking processes to develop and implement new approaches, systems, structures, and methods.
  5. Follow sales processes to increase the firm's probabilities of winning and maintain active opportunities to achieve annual sales goals.
  6. Perform an overview of financial statements for inconsistencies and opportunities for increased revenue generation or cost savings.
  7. Coordinate annual audits and/or tax returns with outside CPA firms.
  8. Review journal entries prepared by team members and facilitate updates needed to the general ledger and other data requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  2. 7 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for experience in real estate and/or property management.
  3. Advanced technology skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and QuickBooks, with a preference for Intacct, NetSuite, and other cloud accounting tools.
  4. Advanced technical abilities in all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, employee benefits, and general ledger accounting.
  5. Strong people and project management skills, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial and legal documents and respond to common inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or the business community.
  6. Experience in autonomous decision-making and oversight, weighing costs, benefits, risks, and chances for success.

The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 - $160,000 per year, based on location and experience.
