Job Title: Navigation Systems Engineer

Job Summary:
Orbis, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Navigation Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assessing risk for technical decisions for Nimitz (CVN 68) and Ford (CVN 78) Class Ship Design Managers (SDMs) and System Engineering Manager (SEM).

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical expertise and support for Navigational Systems on CVN 68 and CVN 78 Class aircraft carriers.
• Conduct engineering assessments, research, and problem resolution utilizing Nimitz (CVN 68) and/or Ford (CVN 78) operational experience.
• Provide responses to requests for technical assistance or adjudication received via various channels.
• Participate in technical approval letters for Ship Alteration (ShipAlts) and Technical Assessment Team (TAT) reviews for Ship Change Documents (SCDs).
• Review Technical Feedback Reports (TFBRs) for Planned Maintenance System (PMS) changes requiring Designated Technical Representative (DTR) review.
• Coordinate with Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, and other activities to resolve technical matters.
• Review technical data packages, drawings, reports, logistics products, training, etc. and provide technical recommendations.
• Develop formal presentations to brief to senior officials.
• Review ship, procurement, and systems specifications and submit proposals for changes.

Requirements:
• 4+ years experience working with US Navy vessels, preferably nuclear-powered ships.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Experience with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM) supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, and/or repair of shipboard systems.
• Experience working with a US Navy Technical Authority (e.g., NAVSEA 05 or 08).
• Experience working with program managers (e.g., PMS 312 or PMS 378) in a technical role.
• Experience with shipboard networks and systems.
• Experience with aircraft carriers.

Education:
• 4-yr Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Systems Engineering preferred) from an accredited university.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• SECRET security clearance must be fully adjudicated and considered "final".
