Job Overview

Position: Cyber Threat Analyst

Location: Arlington, VA

Security Clearance: Top Secret Required

Node is dedicated to providing expert support to U.S. Government clients, focusing on incident response for civilian agencies and critical infrastructure owners facing cyber threats. Our team is responsible for immediate investigation and resolution of cyber incidents, ensuring the safety and security of vital services.

We are currently seeking a Cyber Threat Analyst to join our mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough research and compile effective resolution strategies to mitigate potential Computer Network Defense incidents.
  • Utilize knowledge of various threat actors, including criminal, insider, hacktivist, and nation-state, to identify and assess potential threats.
  • Apply cybersecurity principles to detect and defend against intrusions in both small and large-scale IT networks, including preliminary log data analysis.
  • Monitor external threat intelligence sources to stay updated on the current Computer Network Defense threat landscape.
  • Identify the root cause of incidents and gather essential information from external entities regarding incident backgrounds and infection vectors.
  • Analyze network alerts from multiple sources to determine their potential causes.
  • Document and track Computer Network Defense incidents from detection to resolution.
  • Collaborate with various organizational components to gather and coordinate information related to ongoing incidents.
  • Provide support during assigned shifts.
Qualifications:Required Skills:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in cyber incident management or cybersecurity operations
  • Familiarity with incident response methodologies
  • Understanding of the NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System for effective incident triaging
  • Knowledge of general attack stages and vulnerability recognition
  • Basic system administration and operating system hardening knowledge
  • Awareness of Computer Network Defense policies and regulations
  • Familiarity with various operational threat environments
  • Understanding of system and application security vulnerabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different locations

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Incident Management, Operations Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Alternatively, a high school diploma with 4-6 years of incident management or cybersecurity experience.
