Position Summary:
The Route Sales Development Coach plays a crucial role within our Sales Team, responsible for training and nurturing our sales personnel. This includes comprehensive onboarding for new hires, as well as ongoing development for existing team members to enhance their sales capabilities and promote teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct personalized training sessions with Sales Specialists, Route Sales Drivers, and Merchandisers to instill the fundamentals of our business.
- Gain familiarity with delivery routes for training purposes and assist in route coverage when necessary.
- Deliver initial training to new sales employees, covering all aspects of sales, delivery, customer service, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with Sales Center and District Sales Managers to stay informed on market trends and develop strategies for growth.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs and refine materials to implement best practices.
- Regularly evaluate employee performance and knowledge, providing constructive feedback to management.
- Oversee the continuous training of sales and distribution staff across various territories, focusing on:
- Building positive customer relationships.
- Understanding market execution and merchandising standards.
- Product rotation and stocking procedures.
- Store resets and schematic adjustments.
- Effective sales techniques and ordering processes.
- Warehouse loading and pre-sell training.
- Safe operation of vehicles requiring a CDL.
- Handheld device training for invoicing and paperwork management.
- Maintain quality assurance standards and a safe working environment.
- Monitor competitor activities and ensure compliance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Marketing.
- Two years of relevant business management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong mathematical skills for financial analysis.
Training Requirements:
- Active Class A CDL and compliance with all driving regulations.
- Comprehensive training with Sales Center and District Sales Managers.
- Participation in safety training programs.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50+ pounds and maintain physical activity throughout the day.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
Work Environment:
- Hands-on experience in various market settings with a focus on continuous learning.
- Moderate noise levels due to operational equipment.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
