Position Overview:
We are looking for a Permanent Underwriter to enhance our vibrant team.

The successful applicant will be tasked with assessing risk, reviewing and approving insurance applications, and fostering profitable business relationships.

This role is crucial to our operations and requires a professional with a solid grasp of risk management, general liability, and MGU Underwriting.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in renewal underwriting and a genuine enthusiasm for the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and underwrite insurance applications, renewals, and endorsements within designated authority limits.
  • Work collaboratively with sales and marketing teams to nurture and grow business relationships with brokers and clients.
  • Examine complex data and financial information to evaluate the risk associated with potential clients.
  • Implement risk management strategies to minimize potential losses.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscape.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in special underwriting initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in renewal underwriting, MGU Underwriting, and general liability.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management practices and insurance fundamentals.
  • Professional designations such as CPCU and AU are highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Decisive judgment and the capacity to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
  • Aptitude for building and sustaining strong business relationships.
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and education.
