Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Permanent Underwriter to enhance our dynamic workforce.
The successful candidate will be tasked with assessing risk, reviewing and approving insurance applications, and nurturing profitable business relationships.
This role is crucial to our operations and requires a professional with a robust understanding of risk management, general liability, and MGU Underwriting.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in renewal underwriting and a genuine enthusiasm for the insurance sector.Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and underwrite insurance applications, renewals, and endorsements within designated authority levels.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to foster and expand business relationships with brokers and clients.
- Analyze intricate data and financials to evaluate the risk of insuring potential clients.
- Employ risk management strategies to minimize potential losses.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and issues in a timely manner.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Engage in special underwriting projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in renewal underwriting, MGU Underwriting, and general liability.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management strategies and insurance principles.
- Professional designations such as CPCU and AU are highly regarded.
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient decision-making abilities and capability to perform under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain robust business relationships.
