Position Overview
We are looking for a Permanent Underwriter to contribute to our dynamic organization.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing risk, reviewing and approving insurance applications, and fostering profitable business relationships.
This position is essential to our operations and requires a professional with a solid grasp of risk management, general liability, and MGU Underwriting.
The ideal applicant will possess extensive experience in renewal underwriting and a strong enthusiasm for the insurance sector.Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and underwrite insurance applications, renewals, and endorsements within assigned authority levels.
- Work collaboratively with sales and marketing teams to enhance and maintain business relationships with brokers and clients.
- Analyze intricate data and financial information to evaluate the risk associated with potential clients.
- Employ risk management strategies to minimize potential losses.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market activities, and competitive landscape.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and issues in a timely manner.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Engage in special underwriting projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in renewal underwriting, MGU Underwriting, and general liability.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management practices and insurance principles.
- Professional designations such as CPCU and AU are highly regarded.
- Strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Decisive problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
- Capacity to cultivate and sustain robust business relationships.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
