Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Permanent Underwriter to enhance our dynamic workforce. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assessing risk, reviewing and approving insurance applications, and nurturing profitable business relationships.
This position is crucial to our operations and demands a professional with a profound understanding of risk management, general liability, and MGU Underwriting. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in renewal underwriting and a genuine enthusiasm for the insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and underwrite insurance applications, renewals, and endorsements within assigned authority levels.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to strengthen and expand relationships with brokers and clients.
- Analyze intricate data and financial information to evaluate the risk associated with potential clients.
- Employ risk management strategies to minimize potential losses.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly addressing client inquiries and concerns.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Engage in special underwriting projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in renewal underwriting, MGU Underwriting, and general liability.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management techniques and insurance principles.
- Professional designations such as CPCU and AU are highly regarded.
- Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective decision-making skills and the capacity to perform under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain robust business relationships.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
