Job Summary
Rapides Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Science Director of Education to lead our NAACLS-accredited MLS program. As a leader in laboratory education, you will be responsible for promoting growth and unlocking possibilities for our students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and administer the MLS Education program, ensuring continuous quality improvement and accreditation.
- Develop and implement curriculum plans, directing faculty and staff to achieve program goals.
- Maintain NAACLS accreditation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with students, faculty, and program personnel to achieve program objectives.
- Plan and coordinate student learning activities, including lectures, tests, and grades.
- Assist in teaching and training fellow employees and students performing laboratory tasks.
- Ensure compliance with hospital and laboratory department policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree from a U.S. accredited college or university with a major in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or nationally recognized certification/licensure for international or non-US programs.
- Current Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
- At least three years' teaching experience in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Knowledge of education methods and administration, as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures.
- BLS within 30 days of employment.
