Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Rapides Regional Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identification and specimen integrity to prevent errors.
  • Perform sample analysis in areas of demonstrated competency.
  • Calibrate, standardize, and maintain instrumentation according to manufacturer or established procedures.
  • Perform and document quality control to ensure proper functioning of instrumentation, reagents, and procedures.
  • Evaluate, calculate, and validate test results, quality control records, and/or electronic files.
  • Coordinate with medical and professional staff in the dispersion and interpretation of data.
  • Assist in the teaching and training of fellow employees and students performing laboratory tasks.
  • Comply with and document all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification within 30 days of employment start date.
