Medical Laboratory Science Director of Education

Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Science Director of Education to lead our NAACLS-accredited MLS program, a program that has developed laboratory professionals for 70 years and counting. The successful candidate will be responsible for the organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, directing other program faculty/staff, and general effectiveness of the MLS Education program.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the budget preparation process for the MLS Education program
- Responsible for maintaining NAACLS accreditation of the program
- Plan and coordinate all student learning activities including lectures, tests, and grades
- Assist in the teaching and training of fellow employees and students performing laboratory tasks
- Compliance with and documentation of all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree
- Bachelor's degree from a U.S. accredited college or university with a major in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a chemical, physical or biological science
- ASCP-BOC or ASCPi -BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or nationally recognized certification/licensure for international or non-US programs
- Current Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
- At least three years' teaching experience
- Knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures
