Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Supervisor/Manager, the Facilities Operations Specialist will be responsible for executing exceptional facilities maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on building facilities, ensuring the upkeep of non-technical equipment and systems.
  • Provide regular janitorial and mailroom services as required at the business site.
  • Change filters, replace lamps, and assist with computer cabling and other standard facilities support tasks.
  • Utilize equipment such as forklifts, power dollies, pallet movers, and hijackers as needed.
  • Offer non-technical support to carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing contractors upon request.
  • Assist in the setup and relocation of office equipment across the campus.
  • May coordinate office relocations after hours to minimize service disruptions.
  • Physically assemble, disassemble, and relocate equipment, panels, and furniture as directed by the facility planning department.
  • Engage with all organizational levels to address routine customer service requests and inquiries.
  • Maintain a safe and well-kept external ground area.
  • Respond to routine problems and concerns across the organization.
  • Clear snow and debris from sidewalks and parking areas to prevent accidents.
  • Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, and cultivating flowerbeds as seasonally appropriate.
  • Operate power equipment including lawnmowers and snow blowers.
  • Depending on the location, may be responsible for transportation needs within the facilities department.
  • Deliver equipment and supplies throughout the campus and to external locations as necessary.
  • Assist with errands and special projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to remain on feet for over 75% of the workday, with frequent climbing and kneeling.
  • Ability to push/pull carts and pallets weighing over 100 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Frequent bending and walking throughout large buildings to ensure timely completion of tasks per customer requirements.
