About the Position

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to join our team in the shop. As a full-service equipment dealer, we specialize in industrial and construction equipment since 1956 and were recently named one of the Best Places to Work in 2023 by Arkansas Business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair various types of material handling and construction equipment to ensure operational and safety standards.
  • Effectively communicate with salespeople, coordinators, managers, and customers regarding possible downtime and job progress updates.
  • Operate in a safe and efficient manner with minimal supervision to decrease equipment downtime and maintain safe working standards.

Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of mechanical training/education and/or experience in a related field
  • Possessing or ability to obtain a complete line of tools
  • Above-average communication skills
  • Ability to obtain equipment operator certifications
  • Ability to read or be trained in reading schematics
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills and Qualifications
  • General knowledge of operating various equipment
  • Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
  • This position will be working in company operating facilities, with varying weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Frequent exposure to potential hazards, requiring appropriate safety equipment and practices.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds, and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting on a daily basis.
  • Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with maximum safety.
