Job Description

As a key member of the GGP Parks LLC team, the Event Specialist will play a vital role in coordinating and executing various events and activities within the park. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate event activities across Operations, Culinary, Programming, and other departments to plan and execute special events.
  • Provide guidance and communication to assist with event implementation, while actively participating in setup and execution to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Understand and effectively communicate event details, including facility layouts and event specifics.
  • Work closely with Revenue and Operations Management from event start to finish.
  • Assist in coordinating setup and managing revenue-generating special events and in-park locations.
  • Maintain correspondence across internal departments regarding special events and revenue-generating locations.
  • Execute events, including preparation, setup, duration, reset, payment processing, and invoicing.
  • Attend training seminars, staff meetings, and community meetings.
  • Monitor assets and merchandise products in accordance with established procedures to control costs.
  • Perform emergency custodial maintenance or operations work involving event elements.

  • Ability to enhance the GGP Parks LLC brand and executive team in the best interest of the community, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work with the public, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and work under deadlines.
  • Possess decision-making, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Capable of following and giving instructions; must work well with others.
  • Highly motivated with strong ability to set priorities.
  • Outgoing personality and ability to interact with community partners and interdepartmental relationships.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external audiences and respond to participant evaluations and feedback as needed.
  • Dedicated to producing high-quality experiences for a diverse audience.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Experience with large-scale event execution.
  • Able to work and manage third-party vendor relationships for rental or purchase of goods and services.
  • Able to multitask while maintaining efficiency, establish priorities, and proceed with objectives.
  • Excellent work ethic, pays close attention to detail, and is a self-starter.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance and establish positive working relationships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be creative and think outside the box.
  • Highly organized, able to establish and maintain office organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years in the hospitality industry.
  • Completion of High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain a food handlers certification and Oklahoma beverage server license within 180 days from hire.
  • Able to communicate effectively with managers and employee personnel.
  • Ability to work holidays, nights, and weekends as required for events and programs.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work in a typical interior restaurant work environment.
