POSITION SUMMARY
This role entails supervising and managing the daily functions of a designated team within the Clerk's Office or court division.

The selected candidate will oversee staff in the county court division, specifically within the criminal intake division, the Traffic/Small Claims division, and the weekend staff responsible for bond hearings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supervise the activities of assigned personnel, including task assignment and prioritization, offering guidance and coaching, participating in hiring and termination processes, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Contribute to policy formulation and update procedures in accordance with new regulations and legislation.
- Deliver internal and external customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns. Act as a liaison and coordinate modifications in court operations.
- Prepare court documentation and reports. Monitor, assess, and ensure efficient and effective case processing.
- Perform administrative duties, including data entry for case management, reviewing case entries, conducting advanced research on complex cases, processing warrants, and reconciling accounts receivable.
- Manage juror summons and respond to juror communications and requests.
- Identify and execute projects that enhance the Court's capacity to serve the community effectively. Participate in committee activities and management meetings.
- Complete mandatory training and attend meetings as required.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position involves overseeing and evaluating the performance of a regular group of employees (1 or more full-time employees), which includes providing input on hiring and disciplinary actions, setting work objectives, conducting performance evaluations, and adjusting work assignments as necessary. The tasks performed by most employees are semi-complex.
COLLABORATIVE ENGAGEMENT:
Interactions may lead to decisions regarding policy implementation. Contact may involve supporting contentious positions or negotiating sensitive issues. Interactions may include challenging, negative engagements with the public, necessitating high levels of tact and the ability to manage aggressive interpersonal situations. The impact of these interactions is limited.
INDEPENDENCE AND IMPACT:
This role operates with limited direction. Employees typically execute assignments based on their judgment, seeking supervisory assistance only when necessary. Special projects are managed with minimal oversight, and assignments may be reviewed upon completion. The impact of actions taken is significant.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Advanced skills and extensive knowledge of the work are required. The incumbent is capable of handling complex tasks and interpreting intricate nuances related to job functions. Recognized by peers for technical expertise, the potential impact on the organization is comprehensive.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:
This role may involve responsibilities related to billing, collection, and/or accounting of funds, as well as managing and reconciling cash.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
A High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
OR
Relevant work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.
Work Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in court, legal, or administrative services is required.
Licenses and Certifications:
None required.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
This position involves sedentary work, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, with a negligible amount of force frequently. Sedentary work primarily involves sitting, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is generally good, relatively free from unpleasant conditions or hazards.
WORK LOCATION:
This position is typically performed in an office or similar indoor setting.
EXPOSURES:
Interactions may occur with individuals who are hostile or irate, including those with known violent backgrounds.
