Job Overview

Compensation: $15/hour, 7 hours daily


Role Objective: Provide essential restorative and intervention services for students in need. This is a full-time position, working 189 days aligned with the school district calendar, with additional days as required.


Key Responsibilities
● Collaborate with the Restorative Room team to deliver program services focused on restorative support aimed at resolving conflicts and mending relationships within the educational community.
● Implement safe, respectful, and responsible practices while assisting students.
● Contribute insights to the Restorative Room team regarding restorative and intervention data as it pertains to student needs.
● Facilitate the safe escort of students to and from the Restorative Room, particularly in crisis situations.
● Employ de-escalation techniques and supervise students transitioning from classrooms or other areas to the Restorative Room.
● Support school staff by leading de-escalation efforts and conflict resolution using restorative practices.
● Participate as a member of the building Crisis Team.
● Maintain accurate records of student interactions, visits, and interventions as needed.
● Assist in the facilitation of restorative circles and engage students in restorative practice lessons.
● Collaborate with the Restorative Room/Program Coordinator and Restorative Specialist to connect families with community resources and services related to mental health.
● Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
● Perform additional duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent required.
● Understanding of restorative practices, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
● Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention, Restorative Practices, Trauma-Informed Care, or similar fields.
● Ability to effectively engage with youth and adults to facilitate challenging discussions.
● Proven ability to maintain confidentiality as appropriate.
● History of fostering positive relationships with both adults and school-aged children.
● Strong communication skills and the ability to provide support to students facing mental health challenges.
● Capacity to involve others in promoting a positive school culture and implementing restorative practices.
● Skill in building relationships with diverse stakeholders.


Leadership Attributes
● Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing substantial information.
● Proficient in technology-based communication tools, including video conferencing and software applications such as PowerSchool and Google Suite.
● Reliable and punctual, consistently meeting deadlines.


Work Environment
The majority of the role will be conducted in a school office environment. The position may require participation in professional development outside of regular working hours, as well as attendance at organization-sponsored events and meetings.
