Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Epic Healthcare Billing Specialist to join our dynamic EHR Services team. This role is crucial in managing the implementation and operational projects related to Electronic Health Records (EHR). The ideal candidate will lead integration teams, promote best practices, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Hospital Billing configuration modifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements while maintaining high-quality builds and timelines.
  • Convert user requirements into functional and technical design specifications, collaborating with clients to ensure precision.
  • Act as a mentor and subject matter expert for both local and client-based team members.
  • Lead initiatives for Epic software upgrades or enhancements, managing the design, build, and testing phases.
  • Engage in design and validation sessions, ensuring thorough documentation and timely issue escalation.
  • Serve as a liaison among Operations, Information Technology (IT), and Third-Party Systems.
  • Provide support for application incidents reported through the help desk, including on-call coverage as necessary.
  • Deliver on-site support during system upgrades and go-lives.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of software functionalities and operational workflows.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of workflows, data collection, reporting, and other technical challenges associated with Epic software.
  • Collaborate with trainers to develop and update application-specific training materials.
  • Adhere to organizational standards for system configuration and change management.
  • Build strong relationships with end-user communities, customers, and business partners.
  • Participate actively in meetings across the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Active Epic certification in at least one area, such as Epic Hospital Billing or Epic Hospital Billing Claims.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the healthcare sector.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Epic systems.
  • Direct client healthcare domain knowledge in areas such as billing, payment processing, self-pay/insurance follow-up, denial management, customer service, or vendor management for at least 2 years.
  • Proven Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in relevant applications for 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) to maintain certifications and proficiencies.
  • Demonstrated history of team management and cross-team communication skills for at least 2 years.
  • Experience with Epic Refuel.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • In-depth understanding of Epic EMR and the complete implementation lifecycle of Epic's electronic medical record applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Proven capability to translate user requirements into system specifications.
  • Ability to build partnerships and influence across teams to drive common solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
