Travel and Expense Reporting Specialist

This is a remote position with Genesis Consulting Partners, LLC.
Overview:
As a Travel and Expense Reporting Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that travel and expense reporting solutions align with organizational goals, federal agency requirements, and federal travel standards. You will work closely with the travel and expense requirements management team to define, analyze, refine, and coordinate federal travel and expense management reporting requirements, strategies, and solutions. This position is to gather requirements from federal agencies, establish reporting standards, optimize data strategies to enable compliance for operational and regulatory reporting, and provide system users with insightful data analytics to guide decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Process Optimization:
• Analyze current travel and expense operational reporting requirements, and processes, identify sources, inputs/outputs, and reporting objectives.
• Identify federal agency regulatory reporting requirements that support the Federal Travel and Expense business processes.
• Identify opportunities to optimize reporting processes and data architecture design.
Compliance and Policy Enforcement:
• Ensure adherence to Federal travel policies and regulatory compliance.
• Provide support on travel policies, regulatory reporting requirements, and guidance on best practices.
Reporting and Analytics:
• Support the design, build, and testing of T&E operational reporting capabilities from new cloud travel and expense solutions.
• Define the personas and user types for the travel and expense reporting solution.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and recommended solutions for future state reporting and analytics solutions.
System Analysis:
• Identify current reporting tools, applications, data management solutions, data aggregation requirements, and make recommendations for future needs.
• Assist in the selection and integration of new travel and expense management tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with the requirements management team, system integrator, and technology and cloud platform teams to align travel and expense processes with broader organizational objectives.
• Act as a liaison between stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Issue Resolution and Support:
• Troubleshoot and resolve travel and expense-related reporting issues and provide end-user support.
• Address user concerns with empathy and maintain a positive user experience.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in travel and expense management, business analysis, or a related finance role.
• Strong understanding of travel and expense policies, Federal Travel Regulations, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience and proficiency with Travel and Expense cloud solutions (e.g., Concur, AMEX, neo, etc.).
• Experience with data requirements mapping, reporting solutions, analytics tools.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Familiarity with Federal travel and expense regulations.
• Ability to work remotely with occasional travel to client site.
