About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled ER Clinical Care Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for coordinating the provision of care through assigning and scheduling staff, prioritizing, delegating and evaluating patient care. You will also assist in evaluating patient care provided by nursing staff and participate in Process Improvement activities.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to problem-solve system and unit-based issues, provide input into nursing staff performance appraisals, and assist with Staff Educational requirements as needed. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

This role involves leading and mentoring nursing personnel, acting as a clinical resource person, and assisting in planning and facilitating staff meetings and staff development. You will collaborate with the manager in prospective monitoring of the schedule to ensure adequate nurse-patient ratio on a given shift, review monthly schedules, and communicate with the staffing office regarding staffing changes.

You will also facilitate shared decision making among staff, facilitate unit throughput on given shifts to improve Length of Stay (LOS), coordinate/provide in-service programs to assist staff in maintaining or enhancing their competence in fulfilling job responsibilities based on identified needs of patient care personnel, and assist the manager with interview, selection, retention, mentoring, and evaluation of staff.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have an Associate Degree/Diploma, BSN preferred. You must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of Michigan, with one to two years of progressively more responsible experience with evidence of increasing leadership abilities. You should demonstrate the ability to prioritize work, delegate to others, and facilitate processes.
