Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Specialist to join our team at the State Office of Risk Management. As a key member of our Intake Management department, you will play a critical role in processing workers' compensation claim files, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of documents to internal departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process incoming mail, including sorting, dating, and delivering documents to department bins.
  • Copy priority documents and small pages to standard size for scanning.
  • Record receipt of checks, warrants, and cash into a log and deliver to the Financial Management department.
  • Maintain and review receipt logs for incoming certified mail.
  • Process outgoing certified mail by entering recipient information into the accountable mail log and creating shipping labels for overnight mail.
  • Deliver outgoing certified mail to the Office of Attorney General/Mail Center and overnight packages to the mailbox.
  • Prepare, sort, and scan documents and medical bills for FileNet storage.
  • Perform data entry into the Claims Management System (CMS) for identification and tracking of documents.
  • Provide back-up assistance to the Receptionist.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.
  • One year and six months of full-time experience working in a general office, complex clerical, secretarial, or closely related field.
  • Knowledge of general office or administrative practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
