Nephrology Faculty Position at the University of Washington

Position Overview
The University of Washington's Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, is inviting applications for a full-time faculty role.

This opportunity is available at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, without tenure due to funding constraints (WOT).

Compensation and academic appointment will be aligned with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Faculty members at this level hold indefinite appointments that correspond with a 12-month service period.

Faculty with a 12-month service commitment are compensated for 11 months of service over the course of the year, allowing for one month of paid time off.

The role involves engaging in both basic laboratory and/or translational research aimed at enhancing the understanding of kidney health and diseases.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing both inpatient and outpatient Nephrology care, delivering education to fellows and residents at the bedside, and mentoring research fellows.

Exceptional clinical care and bedside teaching are essential expectations for this position.

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $20,000 and $25,000 per month, which translates to an annual salary of $240,000 to $300,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate a robust record of independent scholarship in the field of nephrology.

To qualify for University Sponsorship for an H-1B visa, candidates who graduated from foreign medical schools must have completed all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or an equivalent assessment.

Applicants must possess an MD (or equivalent) and be ABIM board certified or eligible in Nephrology (or foreign equivalent). Completion of an ACGME nephrology fellowship (or equivalent) is also required.
