The United Cerebral Palsy of The Inland Empire is seeking a skilled Respite Care Assistant to provide critical support to families and caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities in the Coachella Valley.

About the Position

This role requires an organized and detail-oriented individual who can work independently, providing temporary care and support to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a variety of settings, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide respite care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Work closely with families and caregivers to understand the needs of each client and develop personalized care plans.
  • Use safety precautions at all times when interacting with clients.
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the Respite Program Manager immediately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.

Compensation

$17.00 per hour.

Work Environment

This role requires regular travel to clients' homes in the Coachella Valley. Candidates must be comfortable driving and navigating unfamiliar territories.
