Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Part-Time Respite Support Worker to join our team at United Cerebral Palsy of The Inland Empire.

This role will involve providing intermittent, regular scheduled temporary care and supervision for clients who reside with family members or care providers. As a respite support worker, you will play a vital role in restoring or maintaining family stability by providing quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

About the Job

This is a part-time position that requires daily travel to client homes within a 40-mile radius, unless approved by the Respite Program Manager. You will be working closely with families, clients, and our team to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide responsible care to restore or maintain family stability in families with developmentally disabled members.
  • Work a minimum of two hours at each respite appointment.
  • Follow instructions for the care of clients/consumers and siblings as outlined by parent(s)/guardian(s).
  • Assist clients/consumers in areas of feeding, dressing, toileting, bathing, grooming, light meal preparation, etc., as needed.
  • Use safety precautions at all times when providing care to clients/consumers and siblings.
  • Report suspected incidents of abuse to the Respite Program Manager & complete the required documentation.
  • Never leave a client(s)/consumer(s)/siblings unattended.
  • Maintain certification of CPR and First Aid at all times, current copies to be on file in office.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures in the employee handbook and respite fundamental training manual.
  • Adhere to UCPIE's Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and all other applicable safety procedures.
  • Report any changes in personal information to the respite program manager immediately.
  • Complete and submit time cards, mileage, reports, etc., using UCPIE timekeeping and case management software.
  • Complete client daily notes and submit to UCPIE administrative offices as instructed by the respite program manager.
  • Maintain current information on emergency call forms and submit copy to UCPIE office.
  • Return phone calls to UCPIE administrative team within 24 hours or immediately if emergency message is received.
  • Do not transport client(s) or siblings at any time.
  • Continue education through training modules; workshops; annual UCPIE in-house training, etc.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED certificate
  • 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (experience can be caring for a family member with a disability)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Computer proficient
  • CPR & First Aide Certification
  • Clean TB test every 4 years
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid vehicle registration
  • Valid vehicle insurance
  • Clear security clearance (fingerprint live scan) through the FBI and DOJ
  • Llegally eligible to work in the U.S.A.

This position offers an estimated $17.00 per hour salary, paid bi-weekly, based on a 30-hour workweek. We offer competitive pay and opportunities for growth and development.
