Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Quality Specialist to join our team at the State Air Resources Board. As a key member of our Laboratory Support Section, you will be responsible for leading the administration of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and providing analytical support to our laboratories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team of Air Pollution Specialists in LIMS administration duties, including programming and database administration.
  • Work with laboratory management and staff to identify desirable LIMS enhancements and develop plans to implement them.
  • Respond to frequent requests for LIMS support within the laboratory, requiring quick turn-around times.
  • Explore new technologies and software to modernize and improve efficiency within laboratory operations.
  • Assist in assessing QA/QC questions and issues that arise in the laboratory, including reviewing updates to laboratory standard operating procedures.
Working Conditions

This position may be eligible for hybrid in-office work and in-state telework. While some in-person attendance is required, the amount of telework is at the agency's discretion.

Requirements
  • Requires being stationary for extended periods, consistent with office work.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.
  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
