Job Title: Air Pollution Specialist

Job Summary:

The State Air Resources Board is seeking a highly skilled Air Pollution Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Advanced Monitoring Techniques Section, you will be responsible for deploying, operating, and maintaining real-time and discrete sampling instrumentation in the Study of Neighborhood Air near Petroleum Sources (SNAPS) project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement community air monitoring plans
  • Develop quality assurance project plans
  • Write technical papers and reports
  • Manage equipment procurement and administration of relevant contracts
  • Correspond with outside agencies, staff, and the public to develop and report on community air monitoring programs

Requirements:

  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Occasional use of personal transportation for business
  • Maintain defensive driver training
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment with occasional field work

Working Conditions:

This position may be eligible for hybrid in-office work and in-state telework. The amount of telework is at the agency's discretion and is based on the California Air Resource Boards' (CARB) current telework policy.
