Job Summary

The State Air Resources Board is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Air Resources Technician II to join our Compliance Support Section in the Transportation and Clean Technology Branch. As a key member of our team, you will assist in developing and implementing regulatory strategies and emission control measures to reduce harmful criteria and greenhouse gas emissions from medium and heavy-duty on-road mobile sources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Air Pollution Specialists and Air Resources Engineers in answering technical calls and emails, reviewing fleet surveys and registration databases, compiling and analyzing emissions data, and assessing the availability and feasibility of advanced medium and heavy-duty vehicle propulsion technologies.
  • Estimate costs and benefits associated with the operation and maintenance of advanced zero-emission technologies, design and maintain the program website, and prepare reports, factsheets, and other correspondence as needed.
  • Coordinate and participate in public workshops, meetings, and other events, and provide administrative assistance to the manager and the section.

Working Conditions

The position may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on operational needs. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. All employees may be required to report to the position's designated headquarters location at their own expense.

Requirements

  • Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.
  • Position located in a high-rise building.
