Job Summary:

The Biltmore Company is seeking a skilled and dedicated Village Hotel Server - Flex Position to join our team. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service and ensuring a world-class dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process guest orders in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all items are prepared correctly.
  • Present, open, and pour wine when serving guests, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Observe diners to ensure satisfaction with food and service, responding to additional requests and determining when the meal has been completed.
  • Total bills and accept payment or refer guests to supervisors, maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu and beverages, up-selling menu items and beverages accordingly.
  • Work effectively with the Point of Sale (POS) system, following guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure that the required uniform is kept clean, neatly pressed, and in good repair, presenting a professional image at all times.
  • Arrive ready to start work properly attired, with full uniform and appropriate footwear.
  • Ensure cutlery, china, and glassware are spotless before setting on tables, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Work nights, weekends, and potential holidays, with flexibility to adapt to changing business demands.
  • Assist the bus person with stocking, removing, and resetting dishes and silverware between courses, and cleaning and resetting vacated tables.
  • Ensure all side duties are fully completed prior to the end of the shift, as outlined and in readiness for the next meal period.
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with the goals, culture, service standards, and fundamental values of The Biltmore Company.
  • Maintain a clean working environment, where sanitation, health, and safety standards are never compromised.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull 2550 pounds; lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand, bent in reverse 90 degrees.
  • May often serve in hot interior or exterior areas, and may work double shifts based on business demands.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant required, with a minimum of six (6) months of related restaurant experience in a fine dining/upscale setting, preferably in a multi-unit resort.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering world-class guest service and anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Excellent guest relation and communications skills, with the ability to offer warm, sincere, and gracious hospitality to guests.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to handle a variety of guest service situations in a manner consistent with The Biltmore Company standards.
  • Terrific attention to details.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, guest service environment.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to be proactive, exercise good judgment, and take initiative as appropriate.
  • Ability to be professional in both appearance and demeanor in accordance with The Biltmore Company standards.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull 2550 pounds; lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand, bent in reverse 90 degrees.
  • Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • The employee will work in a restaurant or kitchen environment.
  • May often serve in hot interior or exterior areas, and may work double shifts based on business demands.
