Job Summary

As a Payroll Administrator at Stantec, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's operational excellence. You will be responsible for performing payroll administration duties, including input and processing, under the direct supervision of the Payroll Manager. This experienced-level payroll support position is geared towards a detail-oriented individual with demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

Perform payroll related input, balancing, and reconciliation tasks and comply with internal policies and external regulations.
Input changes to employee direct deposits, taxes, etc. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Researches and resolves routine employee paycheck related questions. More complex issues are referred to more senior staff.
Audit payroll data entry reports.
Back-up for Certified Payroll as well as prevailing wage
Help Manage the Manual Timecard inbox as well as entering and maintaining manual timecard corrections.
Prepares and distributes manual checks as needed and processes reversals.
Daily requirement for data entry and filing.

Qualifications

Experience with automated payroll and timekeeping systems.
Prevailing Wage experience preferred
Demonstrates organization and accuracy in work.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and repetitive tasks.
Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local payroll regulations with multi-jurisdiction payroll experience.
Knowledge of FLSA regulations.
Strong customer service and communication skills (written and verbal).
Math skills and analysis capability.
Demonstrates behavior reflected in confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment.
Proficient with the use of Oracle HRMS and time & labor, MS office applications, especially Excel.

Education and Experience

High School diploma with minimum of 1-3 years payroll experience or equivalent combination of post-secondary educational experience.
Payroll certification preferred.
