Job Summary

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Safety Inspector to join our team. As an Aviation Safety Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the aviation industry by conducting inspections, investigations, and enforcement activities. You will work closely with air carriers, airports, and other stakeholders to identify and address safety issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and investigations to identify safety issues and non-compliance with regulations
  • Work with air carriers, airports, and other stakeholders to address safety issues and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to prevent accidents and incidents
  • Collaborate with other FAA teams to share best practices and improve safety outcomes
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to air carriers and airports on safety-related matters
Requirements
  • Must have a strong understanding of aviation safety regulations and standards
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aviation safety or a related field
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and standards
  • Experience with safety management systems and risk assessment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
