Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Fluid Systems Design Engineer to join our Stage Fluids and Components team at Relativity Space. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing the fluid systems that ensure reliable and efficient operation of our Terran R vehicles.
Your primary focus will be on conducting trade studies to produce architectures and designs that satisfy system requirements, sizing at the system and component level, and performing detailed fluid and thermal analyses. You will also be responsible for creating tools to enhance our team's analysis capabilities and streamline workflow, participating in design and manufacturing reviews, and owning and leading test campaigns to validate system design and performance.
To be successful in this role, you should be someone who thrives in ambiguity and is able to lead their own projects into completion. A high degree of drive and autonomy is required, as well as flexibility to changes in strategic direction and a willingness to push your understanding and intuition to ensure we as a company are producing the best possible product.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field. You should have at least 5 years of experience working with fluids systems, strong experience applying engineering fundamentals in system design, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer, and experience with one or more fluid or thermal modeling tools for internal compressible and incompressible analysis.
Experience with programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or C++ is also required, as well as experience applying engineering fundamentals to solve real, complex hardware problems. Nice to have experience with launch vehicles and spacecraft, but not required.
