About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer to join our team at Relativity Space. As a key member of our Stage Fluids and Components team, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of fluid systems that ensure reliable and efficient operation of our Terran R launch vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct trade studies to produce architectures and designs that satisfy system requirements
  • Sizing at the system and component level
  • Detailed fluid and thermal analyses including system performance prediction and characterization using a variety of analytical methods
  • Create tools to enhance our team's analysis capabilities and streamline workflow
  • Participate in design and manufacturing reviews
  • Own and lead test campaigns to validate system design and performance
  • Anchor models with data from test and launch
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer with a strong background in fluid systems and thermal analysis. You should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience working with fluids systems. You should also have experience applying engineering fundamentals in system design, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.

Experience with one or more fluid or thermal modeling tools for internal compressible and incompressible analysis is also required. Additionally, you should have experience with programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or C++. A strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and the ability to apply them to solve real, complex hardware problems is essential.
