Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician who will operate both independently and collaboratively to deliver repair, maintenance, and technical training for ingredient dispensing and control systems. These systems are essential for ensuring seamless feed processing operations in various agricultural settings, including feed yards, feed mills, and dairies. The Field Service Technician will also collaborate with operations management and various Operational Business Teams to optimize product movement from manufacturers to customers efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide service, troubleshooting, and repair for a variety of equipment and systems at customer sites.
  • Monitor and ensure proper operation of systems at assigned locations, making adjustments or repairs as necessary.
  • Oversee inventory levels of products at customer sites to maintain adequate supplies for uninterrupted operations.
  • Transport products from the warehouse to customer locations as required.
  • Offer technical support and training to customers to ensure effective use of equipment and systems.
  • Travel to customer locations using a company vehicle, maintaining vehicle standards and personal driving records in accordance with company policies.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and records as required.
  • Be available for overtime work as needed, often without prior notice.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to the Field Service Technician role.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in equipment service or operation of agricultural machinery is required.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.
  • A technical school degree or college degree is preferred.
  • Experience in the installation or operation of feed manufacturing, handling, and distribution is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based PCs is required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices and their applications is necessary.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to pass background checks, drug tests, and motor vehicle record checks.
  • Understanding of cattle feeding, feeding systems, feed ingredients, and feed formulation is preferred.
