Position Overview: Field Service Technician

The Field Service Technician operates both independently and collaboratively to deliver essential repair, maintenance, and technical training for ingredient dispensing and control systems. These systems are vital in ensuring seamless feed processing operations at various agricultural facilities. This role involves close cooperation with operations management and various business teams to optimize product movement from manufacturers to customers efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of equipment and systems at client sites.
  • Oversee system performance at designated locations, making adjustments or repairs as necessary.
  • Manage inventory levels of products at client sites to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Transport products from the warehouse to customer locations as required.
  • Offer technical support and training to clients to ensure optimal equipment and system performance.
  • Travel to client locations using a company vehicle, maintaining compliance with company driving standards.
  • Complete necessary documentation and records as mandated.
  • Be prepared to work overtime as needed, often with little notice.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to the Field Service Technician role.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in equipment service or agricultural equipment operation.
  • High school diploma is mandatory.
  • A technical or college degree is preferred.
  • Experience in feed manufacturing, handling, and distribution is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; basic Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in math, analytical thinking, and troubleshooting.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based PCs is essential.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices is beneficial.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks and drug tests are required.
  • Understanding of cattle feeding systems, feed ingredients, and formulation is preferred.
