Position Overview: Field Service Technician

The Field Service Technician operates both independently and collaboratively to deliver repair, maintenance, and technical training for ingredient dispensing and control systems. These systems are essential for ensuring seamless feed processing operations at various agricultural facilities. The technician collaborates with operations management and various business teams to facilitate the efficient movement of products from manufacturers to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct service, troubleshooting, and repairs on diverse equipment and systems at client sites.
  • Oversee system operations at designated customer locations, making adjustments or repairs as necessary.
  • Manage inventory levels of products at customer sites to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Transport products from the warehouse to customer locations as required.
  • Offer technical support and training to clients to ensure optimal equipment and system performance.
  • Travel to customer locations using a company vehicle, maintaining vehicle standards and a clean driving record.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and records as mandated.
  • Be prepared to work overtime as needed, often without prior notice.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to the Field Service Technician role.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in equipment service or operation within the agricultural sector is required.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.
  • A technical or college degree is preferred.
  • Experience in the installation or operation of feed manufacturing, handling, and distribution is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential; basic Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities are necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient math, analytical, and troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Self-motivation and organizational skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based PCs is expected.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices is important.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass background checks are required.
  • Understanding of cattle feeding, feeding systems, feed ingredients, and formulation is preferred.
